Journey in University

   It's almost the end

I've finally arrived in the last semester. It's challenging to begin my life as a university student via online distance learning. I’m crying and always argue why I choose this way instead of others. First semester I’m afraid to make friends because don’t want to give a bad impression. It's challenging to balance a student's lifestyle at home. While participating in online distance learning, the most popular methods of communication with friends are through platforms like Google Meet and WhatsApp. I actively participate on virtual forum together with lectures. It’s fun even though at home I can upgrade my input. At the end of the semester, I joined Informs. I oversee a project known as TikTok Challenge. This is the first time I've created a poster for an occasion. Many faculty members attend the event, and all movies are artistically produced.

I learn how to cite sources in my first semester using a variety of sources. It has really taken a lot of time only to finish one reference. My lecture carefully shows me how to reference correctly. References are crucial since we must credit the original author and stay clear of copyright issues. Additionally, I learn how to access and use OPAC. The acronym OPAC stands for online public access catalog. This is really helpful to me because I need materials to finish assignments every semester. So, using OPAC to find materials is simple. I also pick up some fundamental computer knowledge and information management skills.Savings all important document and have a backup is important because it’s can be a lot of help in the future.

I pick up communication skills in the second semester. We must do a practice job interview in this class. Because it's my first time, I get anxious throughout that time. I should calm down and relax, according to my lecture. SRC is yet another topic I studied. This course aids me in planning an activity for the library school that will draw more students to the library. The library can be a relaxed setting for daily use rather than just a location to read books. In addition, I study a course called "foundations of records management and information access." I learn how to keep records and about the records lifecycle from these two subjects. We have two options for keeping records: manually or online, but both have drawbacks. For future usage, my professor always cautions us to make manual and online copies of any records.

Four core subjects are required for the third semester. I can say that this semester, compared to previous, I'm more at ease because I've mastered online studying. I'm happy to say that I now have friends. After spending two semesters in the same group, we started to become friends. Changing group members is difficult since, for me, online communication has its own set of difficulties. I evaluated apps that can be used by kids and the school resource center for this semester. We must also suggest a strategy for teaching with media applications. A company's document process needs to be prepared as well. This can assist us in organizing our electronic record-keeping. In addition, tools used in the cataloguing process educate us how various tools work. We are learning how to create an electronic magazine, which is an exciting aspect of this semester. I find it challenging as a beginner to use the Adobe software. Fortunately, I have a groupmate who is willing to wait and show me how to use it. I'm happy with the magazine's end outcome, which is very excellent.

The chaotic semester with seven topic cores is about to begin. You can see that seven is a significant number. I finally had the opportunity to travel to Bumi Kenyalang to finish this semester. I'm traveling alone and without my family for the first time. We must assess social media for information agencies this semester. The effectiveness of the account's utilization and its followers' communication methods are evaluated. The second topic has to do with computers. I dislike it the least because computers require so much technical maintenance. Due to my error in improperly managing the software, my data on the pen drive is missing. I also learn how to choose the main entry and any added entries by looking at the materials' titles and authors. The production of an instructional and commercial video is another intriguing aspect of this semester. I filmed the video at Desa Ilmu. I want to give awareness about healthy lifestyle. Obviously, I’m proud during the shooting session and the editing process not take so long cause I did the voice over part. Designing infographic design to promote Bank Negara Malaysia Museum and Gallery also fun during the making part. Designing the poster can be a little bit crucial as we need to convey the information towards the institution.

Last semester already arrived and I still can’t believe how fast time flies. This semester I can be more socialize with all friends. My mission to grad on time with good results. We do an extansion services at Sekolah Seni Malaysia Sarawak (SSeMS).

I'm so proud with all my friends that working really hard to organize the program. All kids in the hall had so much fun with us. Another successful event for me with all my classmate. Every subject required a new skill for us to explore. I’m having so much fun learning every subject in Information Management because everything is new for me. Journey in university can be a part of my beautiful memories together with kind lecture and friends. Thank you for the beautiful journey.
